Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
We are seeking a skilled Data modeler with 6+ years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise databases and supporting critical application deployments. The role requires strong expertise in data migration, database object creation (tables, indexes, procedures), performance tuning, and deployment scripting.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform data migration across environments and platforms.
· Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business and technical requirements.
· Analyse existing systems and translate business needs into data structures and relationships.·
· Define data standards, naming conventions, and metadata for consistency across the organization. ·
· Ensure models support performance, scalability, and integration requirements. ·
· Design and create database objects such as tables, indexes, stored procedures, and views.
· Optimize queries and perform performance tuning to ensure efficient database operations.
· Prepare and execute deployment scripts for releases and environment refreshes.
· Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure availability and reliability.
· Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployments.
Required Skills
· Strong expertise in data modeling methodologies (3NF, dimensional/star schema, snowflake, etc.).
· Proficiency with data modeling tools (ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or similar).
· Strong SQL knowledge and understanding of RDBMS concepts.
· Proven experience in data migration, performance tuning, and query optimization.
· Strong skills in SQL scripting and automation.
· Hands-on knowledge of backup/recovery tools and deployment processes.
· Good understanding of indexes, partitions, and database design principles.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-based database deployments.
· Exposure to cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP) is a plus.
