Data Scientist

Job Description:

1. AI Augmentation and Algorithm Development:

• Implement Forecasting and NowCasting algorithms as needed

• Leverage the ADP’s infrastructure and network to develop and implement advanced AI models for data extraction, classification, and matching algorithms. This will ensure compatibility with established taxonomies and ontologies relevant to socioeconomic development in the Arab region and strengthen the portal’s role as a comprehensive data resource.

Explore alternative large language models (LLMs) within the ADP’s research environment to enhance data analysis and classification processes, particularly in areas such as economic growth, social development, and sustainability.

• Implement Forecasting, Nowcasting tools based on data profile and requirements

• Implement Data analysis tools to enrich the profile of different datasets and help uncover patterns that are used to support strategic regional planning

• Implement APIs as needed to communicate with the different tools developed

• Explore and implement solutions related to agentic development by leveraging the deep research architecture and adapting it to client's needs

2. Data Analysis and Visualization:

• Perform data extraction, augmentation, and analysis on various datasets to identify trends, seasonalities,…

• Develop dynamic data visualization tools, including graphs and UI elements, to display data in different formats and reflect new methodologies

3. Research and Exploration:

• Explore innovative methodologies, supported by the ADP, for content tagging related to green growth, the sustainable energy transition, and digital transformation’s influence on socioeconomic development.

4. Collaboration and Reporting:

• Collaborate with various entities for data sharing, extraction, and analysis projects, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project goals.

• Prepare and contribute to policy briefs, reports, and presentations to stakeholders and partners, reflecting the findings and methodologies developed.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in economics, data science, statistics or related area is required.

A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in conducting economic research including labor market analysis using econometrics is required.

A minimum of 5 years of technical experience that includes a minimum of 3 years as a data scientist is required.

Proven experience in economic data analysis, drafting, visualization and presentation of data and concepts is required.

Proven experience in forecasting and nowcasting in seasonal and non-seasonal datasets is required.

Knowledge of machine learning models is desirable.

Knowledge in Python or R, is required.

Experience with LLM based development is desirable.

English and French are the working languages; and Arabic is a working language of the client.

For this position, fluency in English and Arabic is required.
