We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to provide expert support in HR data reporting, validation, and visualization. The role involves developing an interactive HR dashboard using Power BI and establishing a data warehouse to collect, store, and organize HR data for strategic reporting initiatives. This consultant will improve and expand the existing Power BI dashboard, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and usability for dynamic, automated reporting.

The dashboard will cover key metrics such as agency position count, headcount, demographics, turnover/retention trends, leave usage, absenteeism, time-to-fill, and vacant positions. The consultant must ensure the raw data updates automatically and supports ad hoc reporting.

This role requires a strong understanding of HR data, experience in data management and data visualization, and the ability to communicate effectively across functional areas. The consultant should be detail-oriented in the development of the dashboard, maintain confidentiality, and be capable of training staff on data usage and dashboard functionalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand an interactive HR dashboard using Power BI.
  • Establish a data warehouse to collect, store, and organize HR data.
  • Improve and maintain data validation processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure the Power BI dashboard supports ad hoc reporting with frequently updated data.
  • Collaborate with HR and other functional areas to define and integrate key metrics.
  • Train staff on dashboard usage and data interpretation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR data.

    • Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience with Power BI development.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • 5+ years of experience with Python for data analysis and automation.
  • 5+ years of experience with SAS for data management and reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management and development.

    • This is a contract position based in Richmond, VA, with an expected duration of 6 months.
