Role : Reporting to the Director, LATAM Architecture and Systems Integration, and working closely with various project teams and a Senior DBA mentor, the ideal candidate is a team player with strong Oracle Database expertise, experience in complex data environments, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in multi-platform enterprise implementations while demonstrating growth potential and technical leadership capabilities.

Your Day with Equisoft

• Guarantee availability and performance of Oracle databases in production environments

• Support legacy data migrations to OIPA systems for life insurance implementations

• Perform troubleshooting and resolution of database incidents with root cause analysis

• Assist development teams in the construction of efficient queries and database optimization

• Identify inefficient queries and provide optimization recommendations

• Participate in technical meetings with English-speaking teams to provide complex technical explanations

• Learn advanced database administration techniques from Senior DBA mentor

• Support backup and recovery operations for mission-critical systems

• Collaborate in infrastructure projects and best practice implementation

• Create automation scripts for repetitive database tasks

• Maintain systems documentation and inventory

Requirements

Technical

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in Oracle Database administration (versions 19c/21c preferred)

• 3+ years of additional experience in IT or other database technologies

• Strong knowledge of Entity-Attribute-Value (EAV) models and large volume data management

• Expertise in advanced Oracle partitioning techniques and data organization strategies

• Solid experience with performance tuning and optimization, including AWR analysis, execution plans, and indexing strategies

• Advanced PL/SQL development and Shell/Linux scripting capabilities

• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and AWR tools or similar monitoring solutions

• Basic knowledge or exposure to Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and migration

• Familiarity with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar ETL tools

• Basic understanding of Oracle APEX or willingness to learn data manipulation tools

• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments

Soft Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in Spanish and English (B2 or higher)

• High level of autonomy (8/10) and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Proactivity and strong problem-solving initiative

• Emotional intelligence and empathy for effective team collaboration

• Rapid learning capability and ability to quickly understand complex technical and business challenges

• Knowledge sharing ability and excellent capacity to explain complex concepts clearly

• Impeccable attention to detail

• Understanding of financial services industry complexities (valued but not mandatory)

Nice to Have

• Oracle Exadata knowledge and experience (moderate importance)

• Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP)

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

• AI tools proficiency (Claude, ChatGPT) for task optimization and productivity

• Background in financial services or insurance industry

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure SQL databases)
