Job Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) manages the Student Information System (SIS). Responsible for maintenance, availability, integrity, and security of the division’s SIS. Responsible for Student Information System database management and security as well as providing end-user support, reporting functions, and design of specialized utilities. Primary contact for the system’s vendors and user-groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The SIS DBA analyzes end-user requirements, determines report functions and capabilities including specific output layouts with detail and summary items, break-out subtotals and totals, etc. Output may be in the form of paper reports, web pages, or other delivery media.
  • Applies SIS system patches and upgrades as provided by the system vendor. Tests, debugs, installs, and maintains computer programs and all appropriate system and end-user documentation and instructions. Coordinates with other membe...
