Databricks Data Engineer – Contract (Porto, Portugal | Hybrid)

We're hiring an experienced Databricks Data Engineer to help build a new Delta Lake platform from the ground up.This is a 6-month rolling contract based in Porto with 2 days onsite per week.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and optimizing pipelines on Databricks Delta Lake
  • Writing high-quality Python / PySpark in Databricks notebooks
  • Spark performance optimisation at scale
  • Implementing governance with Unity Catalog
  • Event-driven data ingestion using Apache Kafka
  • Working directly with business stakeholders on a brand-new Lakehouse architecture

What you'll need

  • Strong hands-on Databricks, PySpark, Spark optimisation
  • Experience with Kafka and Unity Catalog
  • Portuguese (fluent) and English (proficient)
  • Based in Portugal
