A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will contribute to the engineering and delivery of FACTS STATCOM projects, taking responsibility across the lifecycle from the offer phase through engineering, testing, commissioning, and final system handover to the customer. Your day will involve developing and validating DC protection concepts, performing coordination studies, supporting software development and testing activities, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. You will also support research and development topics related to FACTS projects and be prepared for extended site assignments in India and abroad, contributing directly to reliable power system solutions that impact cities, countries, and future energy infrastructure.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Take responsibility from the offer phase through engineering, performance testing, customer acceptance tests, and support during plant commissioning until system handover to the customer.Support the creation of DC protection concepts for FACTS STATCOM projects.Perform DC protection coordination studies for FACTS systems, including determination of DC protection settings and preparation of complete study documentation.Contribute to the programming of software for DC protection and measurement systems using MATLAB/Simulink.Perform functional and performance testing, including model-based testing (MBT) in SIMULINK and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing with real-time simulation systems such as RTDS.Support research and development topics related to FACTS projects.Commission FACTS installations at project sites in India and abroad.Travel to project sites, including remote locations, often at short notice, with site deputations typically lasting 5–6 months continuously and involving basic shared accommodation and transport facilities.What You Bring
A degree in Electrical Engineering.2–4 years of professional experience.A university degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a similar field, with preferably at least two years of relevant professional experience.Knowledge of MATLAB/SIMULINK, ideally combined with real-time and embedded software development experience.Experience in modelling and simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC.Initial experience in control and protection systems, particularly in creating DC protection concepts for FACTS systems or large converter applications.Very good English language skills; German language skills are an advantage.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams for outcome-oriented and creative project development, with a focus on high-quality and high-performance solutions.Willingness to learn new topics, work independently, act proactively, and deliver results in an outcome-oriented manner.Willingness to travel extensively to sites in India and foreign countries, including remote locations, and readiness for long-duration site deputations.Prior experience working on FACTS projects is an added advantage.
