Job Description

A full-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Aide position is available at an Early Childhood School in Fontana, CA. This contract role is scheduled from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY), offering 37.5 hours per week with no overtime or vacation. The ideal candidate will support students with hearing impairments, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure an inclusive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Deaf and Hard of Hearing students with daily learning activities and communication needs.
  • Support the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Adapt instructional materials and assistive technology to meet student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and report observations to the teaching team.
  • Promote student social interaction and emotional well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods used by DHH learners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered approach.
