About the Role

The role of a Debating Coach is to instruct students on fundamental debating skills and foster development within a fun, inclusive and safe environment. In this role you will provide guidance to students about preparing debates, critical thinking, researching current topic areas, public speaking and presentation skills. This role includes; assisting in the planning and coaching of individual and group debating sessions, and the preparation of students for competitions and mock debates within CGS teams. This position requires availability to work on Friday afternoons, with the potential for hours to vary.

About You

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

  • Engaging and enthusiastic coaching style with effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with various levels of abilities across various age groups
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective training sessions
  • Two professional references

All team members at CGS are required to have:

  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current National Police Check; and
  • Full working rights within Australia.
