Deck Cadet (Any CDC)

Job Summary:

The Deck Cadet is an entry-level trainee officer position, primarily responsible for undergoing structured shipboard training and gaining practical experience in navigation, deck operations, cargo management, and safety procedures on a large container vessel. This role is crucial for developing the foundational knowledge and skills required to become a competent Deck Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in bridge watchkeeping duties under the supervision of senior officers, learning about navigation, passage planning, and the use of navigational equipment (e.g., Radar, ECDIS, GPS).
• Assist in all aspects of cargo operations on a container ship, including loading, discharging, lashing, securing, and monitoring stowage conditions for large volumes of cargo.
