Job Title: Degree Apprentice Naval Architect and Weights Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Cumbria)

Salary: £23,493 per annum, with annual progression through the scheme duration.

What you'll be doing:

Naval Architecture plays a critical role in ensuring that a boat meets all contractual safety requirements for effective operation. Naval Architecture involves five core sub-disciplines – Hydrostatics, Hydrodynamics, Infrastructure, Transversals, and Concept Design.

• The submarine's dimensions, structure, aesthetics, and equilibrium to guarantee adequate space, stability, manoeuvrability, and speed.
• The submarine's capability to recover from flooding, manage system malfunctions, access naval facilities, and support infrastructure within physical limitations.
• Designing the hull and bridge fin for optimal resistance reduction.
