Job Description
The Demand Planner – Automotive Sensors is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts for automotive sensor products (e.g., pressure, temperature, position, ADAS, occupancy, and smart sensor systems). The role supports production planning, capacity alignment, and inventory optimization across automotive OEM and Tier-1 customers, ensuring alignment with vehicle programs, SOP/EOP timelines, and long product life cycles.
Key responsibilities
Develop demand forecasts at product, customer, and vehicle-program level using historical data, customer schedules, and market trends
Translate OEM and Tier-1 customer forecasts, call-offs, and EDI releases into actionable demand plans
Manage demand planning for sensors with long lead-time components (ICs, ASICs, PCBs)
Collaborate with Sales, Program Management, and Engineering on new program launches, SOP/EOP, and volume ramp-ups
Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes
Analyze forecast accuracy, bias, and demand variability; implement continuous improvement actions
Monitor demand changes due to engineering changes (ECR/ECO), regulatory requirements, and vehicle model updates
Coordinate with Supply Chain, Production Planning, and Procurement to balance demand with capacity and material constraints
Manage end-of-life (EOL) demand planning to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
Prepare demand dashboards, reports, and executive summaries
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 3–8 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain planning
- Experience in automotive electronics, sensors, or semiconductor-based products preferred
- Strong analytical and statistical forecasting skills
- Hands-on experience with ERP and planning systems (SAP APO/IBP, Oracle, Kinaxis, O9, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI/Tableau experience is a plus
