Position Available: Dental Receptionist/Assistant in Specialist Practice (Casual – 1 to 2 days per week)

We are seeking an experienced and efficient Dental Receptionist/Assistant to join our growing specialist dental practice. This is a dual-role position requiring a well‑organised and adaptable individual who thrives in a very fast-paced environment.

We are ideally seeking a candidate available for 1 to 2 days per week; however, there is the potential for this to increase in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and manage patients in a warm, courteous, and professional manner
  • Schedule appointments and manage bookings using dental practice management software
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and general patient enquiries
  • Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially
  • Assist chairside during dental procedures as required
  • Prepare and sterilise instruments gambling infection control protocols
  • Ensure clinical and reception areas are kept clean, organised, and well‑stocked
  • Process payments, health fund claims, and manage billing
  • Liaise with laboratories, suppliers, and other external service providers
  • General cleaning/practice upkeep duties

Essential Requirements:

  • LETTER 1–2 years’ experience in a dental reception and/or assisting role
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to multi‑task and perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong patient focus
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional presentation and a positive, team‑oriented attitude

Desirable:

  • Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Dental Assisting
  • Experience with dental software D4Web
  • Knowledge of HICAPS and Medicare claiming procedures

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their skills in specialist dentistry, including prosthodontics and orthodontics (and potentially other specialties in the future!). As a privately owned, non‑corporate practice, we offer a supportive environment focused on quality care and professional development.
