Dentist

Position Overview

A Dentist is needed to provide weekly dental services at a local detention facility. Extractions, root canals and fillings will be regular services, as well as providing pain management relief and responding to dental injuries from trauma and long standing complex chronic dental health concerns. Health education and teaching will also be an important part of this role.

Responsibilities

• To provide primary dental care, including x-rays and health promotions to inmates.
• The dentist is required to manage all aspects of dental care services including coordination of care provided by dental specialists to inmates to ensure continuity and integration of care.
• To be able to document all dental care in the dental records folder in compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards of practice. This includes dental assessments, treatment and consultations.
