We are seeking an accomplished Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager – Civil to manage the Civil Execution of large-scale Solar PV projects.
With minimum 5 plus years of experience having proven track record of managing Civil Execution for large utility-scale projects (100 MW and above).
This is a strategic, site-facing role that demands deep expertise in civil engineering, strong project management capability, and the ability to deliver durable, cost-efficient, and compliant infrastructure aligned with the project’s long-term asset performance goals. The Civil Deputy / Assistant Manager will be accountable for end-to-end planning, execution, and quality delivery of all civil works, ensuring adherence to IPP standards, EPC contracts, and international best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
5+ years of Civil Project Execution experience, with at least 5+ years in Solar PV/EPC or Renewable energy projects.
Proven track record of Managing civil execution for large utility-scale projects (100 MW and above).
Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants, and IPPs, ensuring contract and technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Civil Project Execution:
Manage execution of all civil works including module mounting structure foundations, inverter/transformer foundations, control rooms, O&M buildings, internal roads, stormwater drainage, boundary walls, and cable trenches.
Review and validate designs, GFC drawings, BOQs, and construction methodologies for alignment with project scope and site conditions.
Manage site construction activities ensuring compliance with contractual, statutory, and environmental obligations.
Ensure timely availability of materials, manpower, and equipment for uninterrupted progress.
Resolve on-ground execution challenges by coordinating with engineering, procurement, and contractors.
Quality & Compliance:
Enforce robust QA/QC processes for all civil works in line with IS/IEC/BIS/ASTM standards and IPP quality requirements.
Conduct stage inspections for excavation, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, curing, backfilling, and finishing.
Drive non-conformance management, corrective actions, and audit compliance.
Ensure durability, reliability, and performance of civil infrastructure over the plant’s lifecycle.
Project Management & Controls:
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress for all civil works, ensuring on-time and within-cost delivery.
Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to HSE protocols.
Maintain accurate MIS, dashboards, and reports for management review.
Support contractual claims, variation orders, and billing verification related to civil works.
Managership & Stakeholder Engagement:
Manage and mentor supervisors, and contractors to build a culture of accountability, safety, and quality-first execution.
Act as the primary interface with EPC contractors, consultants, landowners, and local authorities for civil scope.
Represent the IPP’s interests at site by ensuring alignment of EPC deliverables with project standards and timelines.
Provide management with clear, timely insights on civil execution status, risks, and corrective actions.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering for utility-scale solar PV plants.
Expertise in project execution, contract management, and HSE compliance.
Hands-on experience in construction planning, risk mitigation, and contractor management.
Familiarity with land development, geotechnical studies, and site-specific challenges.
Excellent Managership, stakeholder management, and client-facing communication skills.
Proficient in MS Project, MS Office, Auto CAD, and QA/QC documentation systems.
