Job Summary:

  • Draft, review and negotiations of vendor contracts

Key Responsibilities:


1. Corporate Legal Advisory:


  • Provide comprehensive advisory on Insurance Act, IRDAI regulations, guidelines, and circulars, Contract Act, Company Law, FEMA, SEBI, RBI, IT Act, 2000, DPDP Act and related frameworks.
  • Advise business teams on new initiatives, partnerships, fintech integrations, and market expansion strategies.
  • Assess regulatory risks and provide legal opinions or position notes on product filings, marketing campaigns, operational queries, and new ventures.
  • Lead legal input for strategic and transformation projects; review and finalize business risk notes.
  • Draft/review representations to IRDAI, Life Council, and other regulators.
  • Periodic updates to or creation of internal policies, SOPs, and customer journeys to align with evolving legal compliances, including aligning with data privacy obligations.


2. Distribution, Business Enablement & Stakeholder Collaboration:


  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts and ancillary documents.
  • Support legal structuring of customer journeys across digital and physical distribution models.
  • Review and optimize existing journeys for legal and regulatory alignment without compromising customer experience.
  • Participation in sandbox/innovation labs approved by IRDAI.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel for obtaining expert legal opinions and supporting the litigation team in advising in various customer and employee related matters.


3. Content & Communication Oversight:


  • Review all customer-facing communications (website content, marketing material, disclaimers, SMS/Email campaigns) for legal accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all digital assets, platforms, and tools are compliant with applicable legal and regulatory norms for customers.


4. Operations, Regulatory Audit and Governance:


  • Provide cutting-edge legal support to operations, underwriting, customer service, and claims teams to enable seamless, compliant execution of business initiatives.
  • Customer-centric legal advice and facilitate timely responses to operational queries with high-quality legal input.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, turnaround time, and responsiveness within the corporate advisory function.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for business and operational teams on regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Draft, review, and finalize responses to IRDAI queries, inspections, show-cause notices, and circular representations


Minimum Requirements:

5+ years' experience in insurance industry and handling legal issues

LL.B. (Mandatory), LL.M/Company Secretary (Preferred)
