Acting as the Construction Director’s delegate, the Deputy Project Manager coordinates project controls, subcontractor and vendor interfaces, executive reporting, and cross-functional alignment (Design, Commercial, Legal, Procurement). The position is designed for a professional capable of independent decision-making, proactive risk management, and leadership across multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate corrective and recovery actions where performance deviates from plan
• Prepare formal correspondence, meeting minutes, and action trackers; ensure disciplined follow-up and closure.

B. Project Controls, Planning & Executive Reporting
• Develop, maintain, and challenge master construction schedules (baseline and updates), with clear visibility on critical path and float
• Establish and control project budgets, cost plans, cash-flow forecasts, and commitment curves
• Track actuals vs. budget and schedule; analyze variances and propose mitigation strategies
• Maintain and actively manage the project risk register (time, cost, interface, regulatory, logistics), ensuring mitigation actions are implemented
• Prepare weekly and monthly executive dashboards covering progress, HSE, quality, commercial status, risks, and decisions required
• Implement and monitor performance tools (S-curves, earned value, look-ahead plans, action logs)

C. Tendering & Pre-Construction (Energy Focus)
• Review tender documents (IFC drawings, specifications, BoQs, contracts) for wind and solar projects, identifying execution risks and cost drivers
• Coordinate closely with Design, Commercial, Legal, and Procurement teams to align scopes, interfaces, and packaging strategies
• Support development of construction methodologies for energy projects, including logistics, heavy lifts, foundations, access roads, and balance-of-plant works
• Contribute to value engineering and constructability reviews specific to renewable energy facilities

D. Project Development & Site Oversight
• Conduct site visits and due-diligence assessments (access roads, crane pads, laydown areas, grid interfaces, utilities, permitting constraints)
• Coordinate permitting and authority approvals with consultants and regulators to prevent schedule impacts
• Support and document constructability workshops and technical decision-making sessions
• Act as a senior interface between site teams and management, ensuring site realities are reflected in planning and reporting

• Lead coordination meetings and technical-commercial discussions when delegated by the Construction Director
• Ensure compliance with company governance, document control procedures, and audit requirements

2. Execution Controls & Expediting
• Organize and lead kick-off meetings with key subcontractors and vendors
• Oversee engineering deliverables, material submittals, inspections, logistics, customs clearance, site delivery, and installation sequencing
• Coordinate FAT/SAT activities, O&M manuals, training, and final handover documentation
3. Commercial Management & Change Control
• Support management of variations, claims, and extensions of time
• Maintain change registers and provide substantiated narratives for cost and
schedule impacts
• Monitor commitments against approved budgets and cash flows
4. Senior Management Reporting
• Compile monthly project reports for senior leadership
• Clearly flag risks, mitigation measures, and decisions required to maintain project objectives

• Strong understanding of civil works for energy projects (foundations, access roads, platforms, drainage, balance-of-plant)
• Solid grasp of construction sequencing, logistics, and site constraints for large-scale renewable projects
• Strong planning and project controls capability (schedule, cost, risk, KPIs)
