Job Description
- Lead geotechnical aspects of hydro projects including dams, tunnels, underground caverns, powerhouses, shafts, and spillways .
- Review and approve geotechnical investigation programs , laboratory testing, and in-situ testing.
- Provide expert interpretation of geological and geotechnical data .
- Develop and review designs for foundations, slopes, underground excavations, and support systems .
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and guidelines (IS, ICOLD, BIS, international standards).
- Perform and review stability analysis (slope stability, dam foundations, underground openings).
- Review designs related to rock mechanics , seepage, grouting, ground improvement, and instrumentation.
- Guide numerical modeling and analysis (FEM/FDM where applicable)
- Act as the geotechnical authority in client, PMC, and contractor meetings.
- Prepare and review technical reports, DPR inputs, and tender documents .
- Support regulatory approvals and interactions with statutory bodies.
