Job Description
Lead geotechnical aspects of hydro projects including dams, tunnels, underground caverns, powerhouses, shafts, and spillways.
Review and approve geotechnical investigation programs , laboratory testing, and in-situ testing.
Provide expert interpretation of geological and geotechnical data.
Develop and review designs for foundations, slopes, underground excavations, and support systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and guidelines (IS, ICOLD, BIS, international standards).
Perform and review stability analysis (slope stability, dam foundations, underground openings).
Review designs related to rock mechanics , seepage, grouting, ground improvement, and instrumentation.
Guide numerical modeling and analysis (FEM/FDM where applicable)
Act as the geotechnical authority in client, PMC, and contractor meetings.
Prepare and review technical reports, DPR inputs, and tender documents.
Support regulatory approvals and interactions with statutory bodies.
