Job Description
Job Summary: Responsible for preparing layouts, general arrangement and detailed drawings, in both 2 D and 3 D applications, with bill of materials for proposal presentations, equipment fabrication and machining.
Responsibilities:
Translate design specifications from engineers into detailed working diagrams of mechanical equipment using CAD technology.
Create technical drawings, including2 D and 3 D digital models, using measurements, specifications, and data from the engineering team.
Revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
Maintain accurate drawing records and drafting tasks.
Prepare bill of materials for assigned designs.
Review drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required.
Willing to learn about drilling rig equipment to develop domain knowledge and become an effective independent Designer.
Willing to have meetings outside of typical working hours to connect with counterparts in the United States (CST time zone).
Develop and revise drawings while adhering to H&P Drafting standards and H&P Engineering Standards & Guidelines.
Qualifications:
Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
3-5 years of experience as a drafter or similar role in manufacturing or mechanical company.
Proficiency in Autodesk, Auto CAD, Inventor, and MS Office applications.
Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) software, Autodesk Vault, and Solid Works is a plus.
Knowledge of structural and piping detailing and electrical/controls drafting is preferred.
Strong mathematical capabilities and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge of drilling rig equipment is preferred.
