Job Description

The person will be a team member within Drivetrain India -Transmission team and will have responsibility for design and development of Transmission systems and components for global NPI ,NTI ,Current Production …Etc programs in line with Caterpillar product development processes.

Job duties and Responsibilities

  • knowledge on design & development of Transmission / Upper Powertrain system & subsystems (Planetary, counter shaft, Torque converter, Pump Drive, OTG, ITG etc) and evaluate new products & processes.
  • Expert level knowledge on design of Transmission components such as castings, gears, splines, shaft & bearings
  • Good knowledge of Transmission Interface systems such as Torque Convertor, Control Valves, cooling system, pumps, etc.
  • Strong component manufacturing knowledge with ability to collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, product support and quality groups to solve issues
  • Must be able to communicate technically with process partners on a regular basis
  • Should have the ability to gather relevant data, synthesizes the data and identify relationships to predict failure modes.
  • Provide technical guidance within the team and supporting organizations.

    • Educational Background:

    Requires an accredited Mechanical or Automobile engineering, should have 10 to 15 years of experience and have exhibited ability to work on complex assignments.

    Required Experience/ Skills:

    Strong knowledge on Design of Transmission is required. Good at advanced Creo Modeling of Transmission components. Requires adequate knowledge on general engineering practices & GD&T.
