Role: Lead Design Engineer

Interview Location: Chennai

Experience: 8 - 15 Years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical design activities for solar PV, substations, and renewable power projects from concept to execution.
  • Define and execute electrical equipment qualification plans (transformers, switchgear, inverters, relays, etc.).
  • Ensure designs meet IEC, IEEE, NEC, and local utility codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (civil, structural, mechanical) to ensure design compatibility.
  • Conduct technical reviews, simulations, and feasibility studies for electrical systems.
  • Lead vendor qualification and evaluation processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, SLDs, wiring diagrams , and load flow and protection studies .
  • Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Drive cost optimization and design standardization across projects.

    • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters in Electrical Engineering .
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in solar, substation, or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of grid integration , protection systems , and equipment ratings .
  • Hands-on experience with ETAP, AutoCAD, or similar design tools .
  • Familiar with electrical qualification protocols for high-voltage and medium-voltage systems.
  • Proven track record of leading design teams or engineering workstreams.
