Design Engineer - Substation ( ME P )-
Locations - Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Faridabad .

Objective / Purpose
The person shall be responsible for the complete design of fire fighting system and HVAC
system for Substation & Power Distribution Projects. The design Engineer - MEP shall execute
the entire design for a project or a set of smaller projects including co-ordination with other
disciplines viz., Electrical, instrumentation and civil
The Design Engineer- Mechanical shall work with a team of Draughtsperson to design the
Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of
engineering
Key Responsibilities:
• Design of pipe sizing calculation & pipe routing.
• Checking the pipe routing done by drafts person
• Coordinating with inter department to get various inputs for fire-fighting system and
HVAC system.
• Following up the schedule committed at the initial phase of projects
• Review and monitoring of Quantity escalation with respect to ACE, timely reporting to
Management for necessary action.
• Checking of detailing of drawing for HVAC
• Review of Pre-bid queries, DBR, BOQ & Scope of work for Proposal Engineering &
Project Engineering.
• Propose optimization Ideas during Pre-bid stage to reduce the BOS cost.
• Checking design conformity to ISO Quality standards & contract technical
specification.
• Interaction with client for drawing approval & clarification.
• Interaction with site for clarification on drawing.
• Interaction with SCM for clarification on drawing.
• Selection of Accessories based on Layouts
Technical Expertise:
The Design Engineer - Mechanical shall be capable of designing pipe size, piping layout, heat
load requirement as well as cross checking the calculations done by design engineer. The
Design Engineer - Mechanical shall be capable of executing design of HVAC, FF for AIS &
GIS Substation. The Design Engineer - Mechanical shall be able to review Vendor engineering
documents with respect to HVAC & FF design. Knowledge of New technologies to do design
optimisation. Knowledge on How to select the HVAC & FFPH equipment and accessories.
The Design Engineer should also have in-depth understanding of calculations pertaining to
HVAC – Heat load (rooms), Ventilation, Pressure draft as well as FFPH - Hydraulic
calculations, Pressure Drop Calculations.
