Position- Design Engineer - Transmission Line

Location- Chennai & Delhi

SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)

To deliver accurate, compliant, and constructible designs for transmission line towers, foundations, and associated structures, ensuring timely execution in line with project schedules, budgets, and engineering standards through effective coordination with design and project teams.

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design Input & Analysis

• Collect and verify project specifications, survey, and environmental data.
• Perform preliminary calculations (sag-tension, loads, structural checks).
• Select materials, components, and tower types based on standards.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation.
• Document assumptions, calculations, and design inputs for review.

Design Review & Optimization

• Review design calculations and drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Suggest optimizations for cost, material, and constructability.
• Ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with project teams for feedback and approvals.
• Finalize and document optimized design package.

KNOWLEDGE

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or Postgraduate in Structural Engineering (Desirable)

Language Skills

Proficiency in English (for technical documentation and communication)

• 3 – 10 years

• Design and detailing of transmission towers and foundations

Reviewing specifications, preparing BOQs, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
