Job Description
- Develop and design new products for sheet metal and heavy fabrication as per customer requirements.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks,SolidEdge, Creo, etc.).
- Create manufacturing drawings, BOM, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, welding, and quality teams for design feasibility.
- Ensure designs comply with manufacturing standards, tolerances, and safety norms.
- Support prototype development, trials, and testing.
- Handle design changes, cost reduction, and value engineering.
- Coordinate with customers for technical discussions and design approvals.
- Ensure smooth transition from development to production (NPD → Production).
- Support quality team during inspection, PPAP, and customer audits.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding).
