YOUR MISSION

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing aftermarket offerings that help in maintaining machine working through the life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

The Design Engineer will be responsible for Designing of aftermarket offerings for Underground mining machines.

  • Understand application of mining machines
  • Strong knowledge of key components in the machine like Engine, Transmission, Axles, and other key parts
  • Creation of Aftermarket offerings and release of parts and documents in all the systems
  • Perform BoM and technical specification comparison of key parts

    • YOUR PROFILE

    Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 3-4 years of experience into Mechanical Design in Sandvik or relevant industry, with knowledge of Spare parts, Key components, Creating high quality documentation.

    • Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in developing kits for aftermarket needs
  • Experience in Product application, understanding machine lifecycle and service requirements (maintenance, repair and upgrades)
  • Develop sub-system & kit designs and make component selection
  • Perform engineering related activities like technical comparison
  • Provide engineering support to aftermarket teams
  • Strong in Fundamental Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge of key components like engine, transmission, axles, rockdrills etc
  • Knowledge on spare part selection and define recommended spare parts
  • Experience in using Teamcenter and NX for modeling and drawing creation.
  • Knowledge on authoring packages including Adobe Illustrator and Keyshot will be a must have
  • Experience in item creation process in TC, MDG and SAP along with key attributes
  • Experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment, preferably mining or heavy industry.
  • Spare part management, Bill of material handling and attribute understanding
  • Knowledge on aftermarket process will be valuable

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to understand aftermarket process, design and develop kits, offering and upgrades engineering
  • Ability to perform calculations for the designs using fundamentals
  • Ability to perform component selection using technical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with global teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
