Design Engineer Trainee (Mechanical)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

As a member of the Medical Product Design & Development team, the Engineer will be responsible for the following key duties, including but not limited to:

●Work on Mechanical part/sub subsystem design of New Products and/or Installed Base products.

●Work effectively with the cross functional Engineering, Marketing, Production, Service teams for Product development/Problem identification/Issue investigation & root causing.

●Understand the Problem statement & give proposal concepts by sketches & CAD model.

●Perform Engineering design calculations using first principles.

●Create precise 3D models of design considering DFM, DFA using 3D design tools (SolidWorks).

●Create Engineering drawings using GD&T & perform tolerance stack analysis.

●Identify appropriate material & manufacturing processes for the design.

●Interact with suppliers to develop engineering Prototypes, assemble & test designs.

●Work with Leads to create test plans & execute the same – Thermal, functional, reliability etc.

●Creation of design & testing documentations & managing Engineering change requests/Orders.

QUALIFICATION:

o Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Product design & Development.

(2023 / 2024 / 2025 batches)

TECHNICAL COMPETANCY:

o Passionate about Mechanical engineering with expertise in Engineering Mechanics, Strength of material’s, heat transfer & material science.

o Familiarity with standard machine shop practices, Plastic injection molding, Sheet metal fabrication & other manufacturing technologies.

o Knowledge of basic materials that can be used in design & finishing process.

o Ability of do basic mechanical hand calculations.

o Proficient with CAD software’s like Solid works with exposure to surface/skeleton modelling.

o Knowledge of creating engineering drawing with tolerances.
