Main Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of power and control electronic boards for complex medical laser devicesCreation of electrical circuit and wiring diagrams for complex medical laser devicesDevelopment and implementation of electrical as well as laser power safety concepts to assure product functional safetyImplementation and execution of concepts for product cost reductionCollection and determination of technical requirements and specificationsCreate component and system specifications and other quality related documents such as risk analysis, DFMEA, test and verification reports, etc. in compliance with international requirements (CE, FDA, MHLW)Perform verification tests to verify electrical as well as laser components and product requirements.Maintain products and laser systems to ensure stable and reliable operations as part of the product lifecycle management process.Support of troubleshooting electrical- and laser-related issuesPerforming of engineering tasks during setup and start-up of prototypesCoordinate and work with third-party suppliers and contractorsMonitoring of technological trends in laser, photonics and electronics, including reviews of competitors' technologyAdherence to National and international standards and regulationsRequirements stated in system specificationsProject goals and costsProcess definitions in the product design and related processes Qualification & Experience
Masters’s degree in science and engineering with experience in R&DSpecialization in laser physics and electronic engineering or biomedical engineering with focus on optronicsMinimum 6 years of experience in development of laser and electrical devices; preferably medical laser devicesAdvanced knowledge of electronics (power-, digital-, analog- and microprocessor technology).Advanced knowledge of optical laser systems (Solid-State-, Semiconductor-, and fiber lasers)Experienced in design implementation and characterization of high-performance laser systemsExperienced in design and development of power and digital electronic boards.Knowledge in EMI/EMC design rules and electrical safety as well as laser safetyExperienced in creation of electrical circuit diagrams.Programming skills in Python, C/C++, and LabVIEWExperienced in creating technical reference documentation.Knowledge in requirements and systems engineering.Experienced in performing Design Transfer to production Creativity and Analytical Skills.Assertiveness.Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment.Motivated and creative, ability to “think outside the box”Be able to function independently of direct supervisionStandards knowledge: ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 and collateral standardsMs Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointKnowledge in ERP system; Preferably Infor SyteLineKnowledge in Altium, Eagle, OrCAD PSpice, Multiphysics simulation, MATLABKnowledge in requirement management tool such as DOORS, Polarion or CodeBeamerKnowledge in building PCB prototypes and system cabling
