What you'll do:


Join platform engineering at SAP LeanIX as Staff Backend Engineer. You'll architect, develop, and lead the integration with SAP services to establish secure, scalable identity and access management across our microservices ecosystem.



The role:

  • Architect and drive integration with SAP Cloud Identity Services (Identity Management, Identity Provisioning, Authorization Management)

  • Design and implement Identity Provisioning and lifecycle management via SCIM 2.0 APIs

  • Drive adoption of SAP integration standards for authentication, authorization, and user provisioning

  • Implement seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) using OpenID Connect and SAML 2.0

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams

  • Drive architectural decisions for platform services at global scale

  • Collaborate across teams to establish best practices and migration strategies


    • What is our stack?

  • Kotlin/Java microservices with Spring Boot, Dropwizard

  • PostgreSQL, Event Streams (Event Carried State Transfer)

  • RESTful APIs, GraphQL

  • Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Instana

  • Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes and Istio

  • Modern CI/CD: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD


    • What you bring:

  • 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience

  • Deep expertise in platform services (authentication, authorization, user provisioning, tenant management)

  • Proven track record of technical leadership: mentoring engineers and driving technology initiatives in microservice architectures

  • Strong proficiency with Java/Kotlin building and operating scalable backend services

  • Expert knowledge of secure, standards-compliant identity and access management

  • Production-focused mindset: observability, CI/CD, testing, reliability and performance optimization

  • Clear, open communicator who collaborates well across product and engineering

    • Nice to have:

  • Experience with SAP Cloud Identity Services or KeyCloak

  • Hands-on experience with Identity Provisioning and SCIM standards

  • Experience with authorization concepts and technologies in microservice architectures (e.g., OAuth2, OIDC, RBAC, ABAC, policy engines)

    You'll join Atlas — a cross-functional team of Front- and Back-End Engineers, an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager and UX Designer. Atlas owns foundational platform domains used across the LeanIX product (tenant & user lifecycle/management, authentication and authorization). Your work will shape the baseline for all product teams: designing secure, reliable, and scalable services that other teams depend on.
