Roles and Responsibilities

Required Exposure:

  • Hands on experience with CAN/ CAN FD.
  • Good understanding of UDS protocol – ISO.
  • Overall understanding of Diagnostics including DTC assignment as per ISO.
  • Development of specification for bootloader to support flashing needs.
  • Hands on experience with authoring of diagnostic specifications using Vector Candela
  • Validation of diagnostic specifications with Vector CANOE/ Busmaster.
  • Knowledge of ODX format for diagnostic specification.

    • Preferred add-ons:

  • Perl/ python scripting.
  • Some background of cybersecurity practices as applied to controller reprogramming.
  • Scripting for Busmaster/ V-Spy/ CAPL.
  • Prior exposure to Vector VFlash.
  • Experience of working on version control repositories like SVN, github,etc.

    • Job profile:

    Based on high-level requirements, the selected candidate shall collaborate with project stakeholders to determine requisite diagnostic coverage for all interfaces and measurements that would be essential to arrive at an issue diagnosis. He/ she shall therefore be responsible for creating and maintaining diagnostic specifications for a variety of control units deployed on the vehicle in a proprietary format derived from industry standards like ODX. For control units developed in-house, the authoring of such specification shall be automated with scripts developed by the selected candidate.

    To ease the process of authoring, the selected candidate shall also support the creation of a diagnostics database that would facilitate re-purposing of existing diagnostic elements for reuse across projects.

    He/ she shall also be responsible for verification of diagnostics and flashing support (including FOTA) for both server and client side using a mix of proprietary and non-proprietary tools. Therefore, he/ she needs to have an understanding of boot-loader functionality insofar that it pertains to reprogramming. As part of this function, the selected candidate shall work closely with the vehicle Test and verification team to verify correct operation of diagnostic tool.

    In addition, the candidate shall need to interface with EOL, service and other functions to address issues as they arise.

    BE/ BTech/ ME/ Mtech/ MSc in Computer Science/ Electrical/ Electronics (& Telecommunication)/ Instrumentation & Control from reputed institute.
