Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Paediatric Dietitian to join the Dietetics Department.  

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. 

Services are provided through our sixmain campuses: 

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. 

About the role:

The role will require high level expertise within paediatric dietetics, including inpatient and outpatient management of high nutrition risk medically and socially complex infants and children with faltering growth, feeding difficulties and food allergies.

This position will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including medical staff, nursing staff, allied health clinicians and other relevant operational staff to deliver high quality dietetic services.    

This position is fixed term part time (48 hours per fortnight) until March 2027 - covering maternity leave.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of paediatric nutrition (faltering growth, feeding difficulties and food allergies) and management of enterally fed neonates and children 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills that facilitate an ability to work   
  • An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community education  
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills  
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development  
  • Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and the  ability to learn dedicated software  
  • Understanding of the cultural diversity of the community  
  • Current Victorian Driver License
