Job Summary:

We’re looking for an experienced and sharp Copy Editor/Business Reporter to join our digital and multimedia team. In this role, you will research and write compelling, timely business news stories for Republic Business’ digital platform — helping millions stay informed about the latest in business and economics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and write engaging business news stories by conducting interviews, analyzing data, and tracking market trends.
• Deliver high-quality, accurate content within tight deadlines, meeting our strict editorial standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key sources such as business leaders, analysts, and industry experts.
• Stay updated on business and economic trends to produce insightful and authoritative reporting.
• Collaborate with editors, producers, and reporters to develop story ideas, plan coverage, and promote content on social media.
• Optimize articles for SEO, social media, and other digital platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
• Contribute to digital content creation, including videos, podcasts, and infographics.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• 3 - 6 years of experience as a business reporter within a digital news environment.
• Exceptional writing, reporting, and interviewing skills.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with digital content management systems and social media platforms.
• Solid understanding of business and economic concepts.
