Job Description: 

The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate activities of the dining room to assure that quality food service is provided at all times in accordance with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as well as the established policies and procedures with Christian Care.

Responsibilities

Hire and supervise wait staff providing Dining Room food service to residents. Counsel/terminate employees. Orient and train personnel in dining room procedures. Conduct regular in-service meetings. Assign work schedules, tasks and coordinate all activities of dining room personnel to insure prompt and courteous service. Ensure that sanitation and safety standards are met. Follow regulations for safe handling of food and service items.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate with and relate well to elder population, the public and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Minimum of HS diploma or GED. Must possess food handler's card or attain one with 30 days of hire. At least 5 years' experience as waitperson or restaurant manager. 2 years' supervisory experience desirable.
