Direct Support Professionals (DSP) cares for individuals experiencing developmental or intellectual disabilities. Their main duties include helping Individuals complete basic housekeeping tasks, transporting individuals to appointments or other social outings and keeping individuals safe from potential health hazards in their surrounding environment, following behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, cooking meals and doing laundry.


Additional duties may include:


Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing


Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying


Helping plan client appointments and organizing a schedule


Organizing transportation arrangements to appointments


Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs


Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities


Royal Community Support is looking for a self-motivated, energetic Direct Support Professional to support a Female individual who lives in Roselle, Union County, NJ. DSP must be comfortable with community base support.


Beth is seeking a DSP to help with her daily living skills and community engagement.


SCHEDULE:


Monday - Friday 


10:00am - 3:00pm


5 hours shift


25 hours a week

Qualifications:


Must be able to recognize that disability is a label and not a description

Must be 18 years old or older


Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent


Must have a car


Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record


Must be willing to have a background check


Must be willing to take a drug screening


Must be authorized to legally work in the United States


 


Starting Pay Rate:


$22+ per hour


Job Types: Part-time


Salary: $24.00 per hour
