Overview
The Director, DevOps interfaces with the senior leadership team and is responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of stable and efficient pipelines across the symplr ecosystem of products. This role is responsible for optimizing the service delivery of symplr products across development, QA, staging, and production environments to ensure the development lifecycle is streamlined to assist engineering teams as well as the cloud operations team. This role will lead a team of highly collaborative and results-oriented team members tasked with delivering services focusing on continuous improvement/deployment, automation, and direction setting to provide a great engineering experience focused on our ability to deliver software in a secure and forward-thinking model.
This role will work closely with Engineering, QA, and Product leaders to enable business processes and solve business problems as they pertain to the software development lifecycle. This person will plan and provide leadership for the processes used to deliver symplr products as well as provide guidance to ensure compliance with company standards, creation and delivery of system documentation, training, and the timely delivery of services.
Duties & Responsibilities
Understand, communicate, and commit to the organization's vision, goals, and strategies Analyze complex issues, apply financial analysis, and use sound judgment to make strategic decisions that balance long and short business goals and objectives Translate broad strategies into specific actions plans, utilizing existing resources and information to achieve strategic objectives and improve business results Serve as a focal point for engineering teams to provide appropriate resources to help monitor, manage and operate lower-environments as needed, including timely resolution to tickets submitted. Manage department performance using key information, processes, and systems to ensure accountability for achieving business results Foster and champion an environment that promotes trust, information sharing, continuous improvement, innovation, quality outcomes and self-development Align team priorities to that of the organization and realign strategic direction when appropriate Coach, mentor, and train team members to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, accountability and compliance of department standards Assist Chief Architect/VP, Tech Enablement in determining the department's annual business plan and setting budgetary requirements Consult with internal customers to evaluate and identify current business process opportunities and use available technologies to implement process improvements and workflows Participate with interviewing, hiring, and training employees, appraising performance, and resource assignments as well as employee development, rewarding and disciplining, resolving problems, and communicating necessary information on an ongoing basis Partner with the Cyber Security team to ensure solutions meet Cyber Security policies and requirements Provide cross-departmental support for application modernization efforts
Skills Required
Excellent time management, resource organization and priority establishment skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Management experience of an operations team with the ability to lead, coordinate, and participate in prioritization planning and delegation of tasks or assignments Strong competency working with Product, Engineering, and IT teams In depth understanding of an enterprise value stream or line of business Strong ability to influence and lead change directly related to the organizational goals of a business unit or portfolio of products Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experience 5+ years of team leadership experience Positive team spirit Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills Proven understanding of cloud operations of at least one major cloud-based platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). Strong knowledge of enterprise computing software, including system management standards and solutions Passionate about technology and providing a technical roadmap that drives innovation
