What the role is all about:
We are seeking an innovative and experienced tech leader to take on the role of Director of Engineeringin REA Cyber City, a key member of the REA CC tech leadership team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for building world-class engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, and delivering high-quality solutions that drive significant business value.
You will also be a member of REA Groups tech leadership community, collaborating closely with local and Australia-based senior leaders to shape the future of REA Cyber City.
Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership:
- Cultivate Continuous Improvement (CI) culture
- Fostering a constant flow of ideas for innovation in both business processes and engineering delivery.
- Champion an engineering culture that prioritizes collaboration and technical excellence.
- Oversee the internal and external quality of deliverables across the portfolio of work, ensuring smooth and efficient execution.
- Guide the team in identifying and leveraging appropriate emerging technologies to drive business value.
- Establish and maintain high engineering standards and governance practices.
Talent Development & Capability Building:
- Proactively build and strengthen the engineering, delivery, and technical capabilities of REA Cyber City.
- Develop capabilities to establishCentersof Excellence while working closely with leadership.
- Lead community outreach and mentorship initiatives within the local tech community.
- Foster collaborative internal communities for knowledge sharing.
- Drive cross-pollination of ideas and practices across Cyber City squads
- Actively mentor and develop tech leads withinREA Cyber City, empowering them to become future leaders.
People Leadership & Growth:
- Collaborate with theHead of Technology to define and implement clear career paths and growth opportunities for the team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and career development conversations with team members.
- Work closely with theREA Cyber Cityengineering leadershipteamto accelerate towards the centers long-term purpose as a hub for engineering excellence, emerging technologies, and innovation.
About you:
- An experienced technologist and leader with a 15+ years of experience along with robust background in engineering management,you'llbe instrumental in steering complex systems and propelling organizational success. Youpossessproven abilities in fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, engaging effectively with senior stakeholders, and driving technical excellence.
- Ability to drive and conclude key initiatives end-to-end.
- Strong experience in delivery management and execution.
- Capability to set up and foster the right team culture.
- Proven delivery excellence with focus on quality and timelines.
- Ability to identify and define future technological focus areas.
