Job Overview
The Marketing Director stewards the strategy for the overall brand messaging, content, and marketing programs for Denver Union Station. This individual is responsible for management of the DUS marketing budget oversees all strategic alliances including community partnerships, paid sponsorships, and all large-scale collaborations. This individual serves as the project lead for all community-focused events and initiatives at Denver Union Station. This individual is responsible for organic and paid digital for DUS website and social media including management of Captive F&B brands’ social media: Pigtrain, Milkbox, Terminal Bar, The Cooper Lounge. This individual liaises with third-party tenants in support of their endeavors to be leveraged across the Denver Union Station marketing platform.
Oversight of station-wide brand positioning including: Photography and videography Copywriting across all digital platforms Website, Blog, and Newsletters Paid digital advertising Social media management including all Captive F&B Third party tenant relationship management Collaborating with Marketing Manager at The Crawford on hotel initiatives Leads Station partnerships and sponsorships (non-F&B): Brand sponsors for major events and initiatives Spirits sponsors in collaboration with F&B Director and GM of Events Philanthropic partnerships “In the Neighborhood” sponsorships for Responsible for executive-level reporting Biweekly asset management calls Monthly asset management reviews Quarterly partner reviews and year end partner reviews Serves as the lead for community-focused events and activations and drives the overarching messaging and marketing strategy for revenue-driving events that are managed by the GM of Events Full project management and oversight of the event Hiring support staff as necessary and communicating all working event roles & responsibilities Leading team meetings and procuring elements from all departments ( Sending a comprehensive Run of Show at least 7-10 days prior to the event Community events / activations include: Art/decor installations || Music in the Great Hall || Opening Day || Fourth of July || Pride at the Station || Farmers Market || Fitness on the Plaza || BOOnion Station || Santa at the Station || Grand Illumination || Merry & Bright Lights Liaises with the GM of Events on marketing efforts to support events including: pre-event promotion, event messaging and campaign creation, etc. Manages the Marketing Coordinator for DUS Responsibilities
Manage online presence with an emphasis on creating unique and engaging content for branded websites, vanity websites, company website, and third party sitesWork with designated agencies to ensure that websites are optimized using current best practices for SEODirect, manage or assist designated agencies in all areas related to online/digital marketing, including website development and online marketingConduct and track on-going email marketing campaigns for a variety of business unitsUtilize current reporting from agencies, brands, and Google Analytics to drive improved content and marketing initiatives and decisionsRecommend changes and new reporting based on changes in technology, CMS or other areas in conjunction with changing business needsOversee and coach social media champions and social media agencies on channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others as the need arisesContinually manage social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, ensuring imagery and copy is consistent with the identity and positioning of each hotelManage promotional packages/campaigns including requesting creative, drafting the communication plan, and sending a marketing recap once completedMonitor trends, online media, brand reputation and ensure management responds accordingly to online travel and review websites.Utilize current reporting from agencies, Google Analytics and social networks to drive improved content and social marketing initiatives and decisionsRecommend changes and new reporting based on changes in technology, social networks or other areas in conjunction with changing business needsDevelop and implement companywide Public Relations initiatives and programs.Work directly with PR agencies to support creation of property initiatives that reinforce identity and positioning, with execution in a timely mannerUtilize current reporting from agencies and third party sources to drive improved content, PR initiatives, and decisionsRecommend changes and new reporting based on changes in technology or other areas in conjunction with changing business needsWork with designated hotels to create forward-looking identity statements that will be utilized to drive messaging through online, social media, PR, and collateralDirect, manage or assist in the development of break-thru creative materials, online and offline, to support both corporate and property marketing goalsAssist designated hotels with communication (flyers, signs, eblasts, – work with property staff and agencies on design and creation of new materialsMaintains and stores a chronological order of media library and electronic files of all advertising materials by property and activity.Current search engine optimization (SEO) strategiesUse of content management systems (CMSs) to update websiteAdministrative knowledge for social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTubeAdobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
A four year college degree or equivalent education/experience
Experience
Required to have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in a marketing position. Hospitality experience preferred.
