Role: Director - Research & Partnerships
Location: Remote, with candidate based in NCR (Delhi / Gurugram / Noida preferred)

Role Overview
The Director - Research & Partnerships will provide strategic execution leadership to Rang De’s research, evidence-building, and partnership ecosystem. This role is central to translating Rang De’s research and partnership strategy into scalable programs, strong institutional collaborations, and credible evidence.
The Director will work closely with Rang De’s co-founders and senior leadership team to drive high-impact partnerships with development organisations, governments, research institutions, and multilateral agencies. The role will also steward Rang De’s thought leadership agenda by ensuring insights from the ground inform program design, learning, and policy dialogue.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Execution & Leadership
- Translate Rang De’s research and partnerships strategy into executable plans, programs, and partnerships.
- Drive implementation excellence across partnership-led initiatives while ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership on programmatic opportunities and ecosystem trends.
- Ensure partnerships are designed to be financially sustainable and contribute meaningfully to Rang De’s ability to scale impact.
Partnership Development & Management
- Identify, cultivate, and manage high-value partnerships with NGOs, social enterprises, government departments, multilateral agencies, think tanks, and academic institutions.
- Lead the end-to-end partnership lifecycle - from alignment and co-creation to governance, execution, and review.
- Represent Rang De in senior external forums and consultations, in alignment with organisational priorities set by senior leadership.
Research, Evidence & Knowledge Building
- Lead the design and execution of research and documentation efforts that strengthen evidence around Rang De’s model and impact.
- Anchor research collaborations with credible national and international institutions.
- Ensure high-quality dissemination of learnings through reports, case studies, and knowledge products.
Program Design & Innovation
- Collaborate with partners to design credit programs tailored to specific livelihoods, geographies, and community contexts.
- Guide pilots and proof-of-concept initiatives, ensuring learnings are captured and fed back into program design.
- Ensure programs remain grounded in field realities while being scalable and financially viable.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
- Establish and oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks for partnership-led programs.
- Use data and insights to inform decision-making, program improvements, and external communication.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead a high-performing research and partnerships team, including senior managers and domain specialists.
- Foster strong collaboration with internal teams across product, finance, technology, and communications.
- Contribute to a culture of rigour, learning, and impact-driven execution.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years of progressive experience in the development sector, social finance, research, or impact partnerships.
- Proven experience structuring and managing complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships at state or national level.
- Strong understanding of India’s livelihoods, SHG, and financial inclusion ecosystem, with policy and grassroots exposure.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior government officials, development leaders, and institutional partners.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into executable programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with reports, research outputs, or policy-facing content.
- Strong analytical capabilities and a data-informed approach to decision-making.
- Advanced degree in public policy, social sciences, development studies, business administration, or a related field preferred.
