ResponsibilitiesGarfield Park Behavioral Hospital is dedicated to providing behavioral health and psychiatric support to children and teens ages 3 to 17. We are looking for a knowledgeable and savvy Director of Risk Management and Performance Improvement to serve as a key member of the hospital leadership team.
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Performance Improvement organizes, plans, develops, implements and oversees all performance improvement activities of the Hospital. Coordinates, oversees and participates in the functioning of all Medical Staff and hospital committees; acts as a liaison between committees and teams; interfaces with members of the Medical Staff and department directors and ensures that reports are submitted as required. Coordinates and actively participates in preparation of all external agency surveys. Assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the PI department; maintains current policies and procedures. The individual in this role is responsible for coordinating the risk management efforts and making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Garfield Park Hospital.

Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.
Education: Bachelors Degree, Master’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.
Experience: Prefer 4 years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, 2 years experience in a supervisory position.
Licensure/Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred.
Knowledge: Possesses knowledge of principles of risk management and performance improvement related to a health care environment. Current knowledge of regulating /accrediting agency guidelines. Basic knowledge of computer skills and statistical analysis desired.
