About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring disability support worker in NSWto support clients with daily living activities, personal care, mobility assistance, and emotional wellbeing. The role involves working closely with clients in their homes and community settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supporting aged and disabled clients during daily routines and accompanying them to activities and appointments.
2. Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, and movement both inside and outside the home.
3. Preparing meals and assisting with basic food preparation according to clients’ needs.
4. Organising and facilitating social and recreational activities to promote engagement and wellbeing.
5. Performing household duties such as cleaning, vacuuming, and maintaining a safe living environment.
6. Assisting clients with personal care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
7. Providing companionship, emotional support, and building positive, trusting relationships with clients.
8. Undertaking shopping, errands, and other support tasks as required.
9. May provide live-in care arrangements depending on client needs.

Skills and Experience Required:

1. Minimum 1 year experience in disability support, aged care, or a similar community care role.
2. Sound knowledge of personal care, mobility assistance, and safe manual handling practices.
3. Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and handle physically and emotionally demanding situations.
4. Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care), or equivalent qualification, highly desirable.
5. Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, families, and care teams.
