Role details
Location: Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia
Hours: shift options include 6:30-9:30AM (7 days a week) and 8-10AM or 6-8PM (7 days a week)
Support for people with physical disabilities and mental health conditions
What we're looking for
- Experienced disability support worker or someone with lived experience supporting a family member or friend with a disability; student nurses, physios, OTs, or other allied health professionals seeking casual work; local residents in Newcastle; career changers with transferrable skills
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support to participants during scheduled shifts
Requirements
- A genuine interest in supporting people with physical disabilities and mental health conditions
- NDIS Worker's Clearance Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Driver's Licence
- Adequate physical ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Evidence of completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module: "Quality, Safety, and You"
Desirable but not essential
- Experience working with high intensity participants including bowel and catheter care
