The Domain Architect - Retail Services plays a critical role in shaping and guiding the technology landscape that supports customer and Retail services at Yarra Valley Water. The role ensures that business capabilities and customer journeys are mapped to a coherent, cost effective and supportable technology stack that aligns with both business outcomes and enterprise direction.

Operating as a trusted design partner rather than a pure gatekeeper, the Domain Architect works with senior business and technology stakeholders to facilitate options, apply agreed design principles and find pragmatic "80/20" solutions that balance customer value, regulatory obligations, risk, complexity and cost.

The role provides architectural leadership, coaching and oversight across Retail initiatives, helping delivery and product teams to shape and implement solution designs that are strategically aligned, implementable and sustainable in a utility context. It sits within the Enterprise Architecture Practice to ensure consistency, governance and shared learning, while remaining deeply embedded with the Retail / Customer Experience team's day-to-day.

• Strategic Alignment and Capability Mapping - align Retail business strategy, customer journeys and capability models with current and future state architecture, translating enterprise goals into clear, actionable technology design decisions
• Solution Leadership, Oversight and Governance - provide architectural leadership and governance across Retail initiatives, guiding solution design, enabling pragmatic outcomes and ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, standards and long-term capability goals
• Technology Planning and Optimisation - shape Retail technology strategy and roadmaps by optimising platforms, costs and lifecycle decisions, simplifying the application landscape and translating industry trends into sustainable, practical outcomes
• Architecture Practice - strengthen the architecture practice by ensuring traceability from enterprise goals to delivery, mentoring architects, and promoting consistent, collaborative and value-driven design across Retail initiatives
• Collaboration and Influence - build trusted relationships across business and technology teams to co-design solutions, clearly communicate architectural trade-offs and influence domain and enterprise decisions while ensuring policy compliance

• Proven experience in Domain or Enterprise Architecture roles, ideally within utilities or asset-intensive industries, with strong knowledge of enterprise technical architectures
• Strong expertise in enterprise-level data modelling and information classification
• Working knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and their application in agile delivery environments
• Solid understanding of the Salesforce platform, including integration with portals, billing, contact centre, and work-management systems in a utility context
• Experience designing or governing integrated solutions across CRM, web portals, billing, contact centre, and work-management platforms
• Pragmatic, outcome-focused mindset with the ability to deliver practical "80/20" solutions within constraints
• Capability to assess solution options and articulate financial impacts and trade-offs
• Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams
• Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring Solution Architects and/or Technology Leads
• Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline
