Job Summary
The Draftsman – Modular OT Projects is responsible for preparing, modifying, and coordinating detailed drawings for modular operation theaters and associated services. The role involves close coordination with HVAC, Electrical, MGPS, biomedical teams, and customer engineering departments to ensure accurate, clash-free, and compliant drawings for execution.
Key Responsibilities
Drawing Preparation & Design Support
Prepare detailed shop drawings, GA drawings, and layout drawings for modular operation theaters.
Develop HVAC, Electrical, MGPS, and architectural coordination drawings in line with project requirements.
Prepare reflected ceiling plans, equipment layouts, service coordination, and sectional details.
Coordination & Drawing Management
Coordinate with HVAC, Electrical, MGPS consultants/contractors to integrate services into modular OT drawings.
Incorporate inputs from biomedical teams for medical equipment layouts and service requirements.
Coordinate with customer engineering teams for drawing approvals and revisions.
Standards & Compliance
Ensure drawings comply with NABH, infection control norms, cleanroom concepts, and hospital standards.
Follow project specifications, approved BOQs, and design guidelines.
Ensure proper space planning, airflow patterns, pressure zones, and service routing in OT drawings.
Revisions & Documentation
Revise drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, and client feedback.
Maintain proper version control and drawing registers.
Support preparation of as-built drawings after project completion.
Site & Execution Support
Provide drawing clarifications and support to site supervisors and project teams.
Participate in coordination meetings to resolve design clashes and execution issues.
Assist in preparing material take-offs from drawings, if required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
ITI / Diploma in Draftsmanship, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
Formal training in Auto CAD or equivalent drafting software.
2–6 years of drafting experience, preferably in modular OT, clean rooms, hospitals, or healthcare projects.
Experience in multidisciplinary coordination drawings is preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Auto CAD (mandatory).
Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, MGPS, and cleanroom layouts.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, MEP, and medical equipment drawings.
Basic knowledge of 3 D tools (Revit / BIM) is an added advantage.
Soft Skills & Competencies
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Willingness to incorporate feedback and revisions quickly.
