* Define the next generation of digital signal processing (DSP) application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) algorithms and architectures for optical transceiver products
* Work closely with international technical marketing, engineering, and product management teams
* Depending on your background, one of two main areas awaits your expertise: Digital Signal Processing (DSP) or Forward Error Correction (FEC), both, for optical transmission systems
* Contribute to existing and/or design your own DSP/FEC features based on leading edge CMOS technologies
* Verify your designs through modelling, simulation, emulation, and offline processing experiments
* Interact closely with our in-house ASIC design team and our transceiver product development teams to jointly explore optimized system solutions that meet power and performance targets
* Create hardware block specifications and Python/C-based reference models appropriate for System Verilog (RTL) implementation
* Support program and roadmap definition with the management team, marketing and customers
* Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
* Define and/or provide guidance on test plans for lab characterization during verification testing

Qualification

* Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related subject with a minimum of 5 years working experience
* Excellent working knowledge in two or more of the following fields: optical channel impairments, digital signal processing, communication theory, control theory, forward error correction, coded modulation and higher-order modulation
* Strong experience in communication system modelling in Python/C
* Proven technical collaboration skills and ability to coordinate with technical partners
* Excellent language skills in English
* Ability to communicate efficiently with remote teams, willingness to work from home and occasional business travel
