Job Description
A Global entertainment and media brand is looking for a talented Ebook Production Designer to support the creation and production of high-quality ebooks across a range of illustrated titles, including children’s books, cookbooks, and photography-driven publications.This role focuses on converting already-designed print books into polished, user-friendly ebook formats. You’ll be responsible for ensuring strong digital design, clean layouts, and technical accuracy across multiple ebook formats and platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit team while managing multiple titles independently.
Responsibilities:
Design and produce ebooks from existing print files
Convert layouts into high-quality fixed-layout and reflowable ePub formats
Prepare and optimize images and illustrations for digital use
Ensure ebooks meet platform standards using validation and preview tools
Balance creative intent with technical constraints across devices
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and communicate clearly throughout production
Required Qualifications:
Strong understanding of ePub standards, digital typography, and ebook formats
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and ebook export workflows
Experience with Kindle Previewer, Apple Books, and ebook validation tools
Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Strong visual design and layout sensibility
Organized, efficient, and comfortable working independently
Clear communicator with a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
Preferred Experience
Background working on children’s books, cookbooks, photography books, or other highly illustrated titles
Experience in digital or print publishing (books, magazines, or similar layout-heavy work)
Publishing experience with well-known or large-scale publishers is a plus
2–5+ years of relevant experience; candidates with 5–10 years of ebook or digital publishing experience will be considered highly experienced
