Job Title: Early Years & Primary Years Associate Teacher

School: Bloomingdale International School

Location: Penamaluru, Bloomingdale School Road, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India

Department: Early Years & Primary Years Programme

Reports to:  Principal

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000 per month



Job Summary:

The Early Years & Primary Years Associate Teacher plays a supportive and collaborative role in implementing the academic and co-curricular goals of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). They assist lead teachers in classroom management, student engagement, lesson delivery, and ensure a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for young learners.



Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Support:

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering lesson plans and learning activities aligned with the IB PYP framework.

  • Support differentiated instruction to cater to the individual needs of students.

  • Reinforce concepts introduced by the lead teacher through group and one-on-one activities.

  • Encourage inquiry-based learning and active student participation.

Classroom Management:

  • Help maintain a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.

  • Monitor students during activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor playtime.

  • Support classroom routines, including attendance, daily logs, and managing student portfolios.

Student Support & Care:

  • Observe and document student behavior, progress, and needs.

  • Provide emotional and academic support to students under guidance from the lead teacher.

  • Foster a caring environment that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Collaborative Role:

  • Work closely with the lead teacher, subject teachers, and support staff.

  • Attend team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development workshops.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher meetings when required.

Resource Management:

  • Help prepare teaching materials, classroom displays, and learning resources.

  • Ensure that classroom materials are well-maintained and accessible.

Additional Duties:

  • Support in organizing school events, field trips, assemblies, and special days.

  • Take up substitution responsibilities when the lead teacher is unavailable.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned by the lead teacher or school management.



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Education / Early Childhood / Psychology or related field).

  • Experience working with young children in a school setting (preferably international or IB curriculum).

  • Understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogies.



Skills & Competencies:

  • Passion for working with young children and nurturing their growth.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.

  • Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.

  • Basic IT proficiency for using educational tools and LMS platforms.
