Overview
As a contractor, you role would include copyediting a wide range of market research documents, custom deliverables, and awards, ensuring our content is clear, consistent, and engaging. Your expertise will enhance the quality and impact of our deliverables, helping us achieve the highest levels of client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Copyediting Excellence:
Copyedit documents to house style, rewriting where necessary. Detect and correct grammar, mechanics, and word choice to ensure clarity, readability, coherence, and flow. Check references, stats, facts, dates, and maintain knowledge of market trends in the fields we serve. Quality Assurance:
Proofread articles to ensure no avoidable errors - grammatical or otherwise - remain. Check plagiarism in articles before publication. Research to ensure the veracity of facts and identify and eliminate incorrect claims. Content Optimization:
Edit and optimize content for SEO, including website copy, blog posts, articles, and other marketing collateral. Manage a pipeline of rewrites and new write-ups. Review and revise content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Conduct keyword research and incorporate relevant keywords strategically into content to improve search engine rankings. Collaboration & Project Management:
Design and refine an efficient briefing process to streamline content creation workflows. Delegate tasks to agencies and oversee their deliverables. Provide feedback and guidance to the internal product and content marketing team to improve their understanding of SEO principles and best practices. Stay up to date with industry trends and algorithm changes to inform content strategy and optimization efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of copyediting/copywriting experience in a deadline-driven environment; experience in working for newspapers, magazines, competitive language test prep, or English instruction is an added advantage. A graduate/post-graduate degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Knowledge of CMS and APA. Proficiency with WordPress and familiarity with tools such as Grammarly is a must. Expert English language skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and vocabulary. Strong writing and reading skills, with a critical eye for detail and the ability to spot troublesome phrasing or parts that will not work. Strong editorial judgment and critical thinking abilities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Positive attitude, energetic approach, self-motivation, and team player.
