Educational Interpreter - Elgin, IL

An Educational Interpreter position is available to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students within a K-12 school setting in Elgin, IL. This contract role is for the current school year (CSY) and involves facilitating clear communication between students, staff, and peers to ensure access to the general education curriculum and school activities in accordance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate interpreting and transliterating services in both academic and extracurricular settings, including classrooms and school events.
• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL), Manually Coded English (MCE), or other modes outlined in the students Individualized Education Program (IEP).
