EHS Engineer I

I.PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position will provide support to EHS Manager on the EHS initiatives, involving all environmental reporting and hazardous waste activities, accident investigation, chemical management and safety programs.

II.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate training, drills, and awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations (NOMs, STPS, among others).
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks. 
  • Follow up and implementation of EHS & sustainability projects.
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation and required reports.
  • Ensure compliance with the environmental management system.

    • Internal Relationships:

  • Reports to EHS Manager II
  • Interacts with operations, Human Resources, Manufacturing, Facilities, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, RBS and Finance

    • External Relationships:

  • Interacts with suppliers and environmental consultant as needed

    • MEASUREMENTS

  • Comply with local and Federal Environmental audits
  • Comply with Safety commission regulations

    • IV.REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environment or Engineer
  • Experience – on similar role or as Jr Engineer 1-2 years
  • Basic English prefer
  • Industrial Safety Knowledge prefer
  • Communication Skills
  • Environment System Knowledge prefer (ISO 14001)
