Position: Electrical Engineering Technician
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Seven Hills NSW 2147
Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join their team located in Seven Hills, New South Wales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·Prepare and revise detailed drawings, plans, layouts and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry in accordance with Australian Standards.
·Assist Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design and layout of electrical installations and circuitry, including substations, switchgear, cabling systems and motor control systems.
·Collect technical data, perform electrical tests and measurements, and undertake complex calculations to support design verification and system performance analysis.
·Analyse test results, prepare graphs, charts and tabulations, and compile technical reports and documentation.
·Estimate material quantities, specifications and costs for electrical installations and projects.
·Inspect designs, components and completed electrical installations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
·Assemble, install, test, calibrate, modify and repair electrical equipment and installations to ensure they conform with relevant regulations and safety requirements.
·Perform electrical workshop duties, including assembling and installing protection relays, metering equipment and indicating devices.
·Assist with research, development and experimentation programs related to electrical systems, equipment and technologies.
·Maintain accurate technical records, drawings, test results and project documentation.
·Comply with workplace health and safety policies, procedures and risk management requirements.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
·Bachelor of Electronic Engineering
·At least five (5) years of experience as a Electrical Engineering Technician
·Relevant post-qualification industry experience supporting electrical engineering activities.
·Demonstrated experience with electrical installations, testing, commissioning or maintenance of industrial or infrastructure electrical systems.
Skills & Knowledge
·Proficiency in interpreting and producing electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
·Sound knowledge of electrical principles, testing methods and fault-finding techniques.
·Working knowledge of Australian Standards, electrical codes and statutory regulations.
·Competence in using electrical testing instruments, tools and workshop equipment.
·Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
·Ability to work under direction as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
·Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
